The Dog Haus Philosophy
The Dog Haus Philosophy
We all want to have a good relationship with our dogs, but when things are out of balance it can damage that relationship. Most of us just want to be able to live in a calm, peaceful home with our dogs and have fun once in a while! When our dog’s behavior is causing chaos and stress it can also affect other areas of our life negatively. At The Dog Haus K9 Solutions, clear communication and balance is what we strive for and want to help you achieve with your dog. There is hope! Often, just a few simple techniques and a shift in mindset can create significant improvements.

When relationships are out of balance, we can end up with behavior issues like separation anxiety, resource guarding, reactivity, and even aggression. Clear communication, setting boundaries, and balance is what will enable you to have calm and peace back in your home. This is the philosophy we believe in at The Dog Haus K9 Solutions.

For anything from basic obedience to more serious behavior issues, The Dog Haus can come up with a customized plan to help you see improvements. As a local business, we are not bound by cookie-cutter solutions. We are able to meet you and your dog right where you are at and customize a plan just for you. If you are ready to make some changes and have more balance with your dog, we can help!
What is the Balanced Method?
In short, it means that we use reinforcement (praise, petting, treats, toys, etc.) to encourage wanted behaviors, and corrections (removing toys or attention, a verbal “no”, applying pressure, etc.) to stop unwanted behaviors. This way we are able to adapt our approach to what best motivates each dog in a given situation. Rather than limiting our toolbox, we have an endless amount tools and approaches to help teach clear communication, boundaries, and build healthy relationships. While things like treats and praise can reinforce good choices, a slip leash or Herm Sprenger prong collar can give precise feedback for poor choices. This method of training helps dogs learn how to make better choices by rewarding good choices and correcting poor choices.
